Awana Clubs
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, or AWANA Clubs, is our Wednesday night program for children from 2 year olds-6th grade. The AWANA program is a wonderful way for your children to learn, memorize, and understand scripture verses found in the Bible.
Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our program offers a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
As a ministry leader since 1950, Awana is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni's spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!
Each week, more than one million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and 6,500 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.
Our AWANA Commander is Judy Morton, and she invites you to join our AWANA program each Wednesday night during the school year at 6:00! See Awana Club Calendar for upcoming events and keep up with us on Facebook - Southside Awana!

Welcome TO Awana 2024!
Dear Parents,
The new AWANA year for Southside Baptist Church will begin on Wednesday, August 14th. Our program will begin at 5:50 p.m. with check-in, outside of the church sanctuary. We will end our program at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Your child will need to be picked up from inside the sanctuary and you are welcome to join us for closing announcements.
Please print out an Awana registration form. New forms are required each year to ensure that we have updated information. Please bring your completed forms on the first night of AWANA. If you need additional forms, they may be printed from the church website or will be available at the check-in table. The church pays for one handbook and the awards each child earns. If your child needs a new uniform, an order form is also on our church website. For more information, see Cheryl Thrasher.
Please look over the AWANA calendar for this year. It lists the dates we do not have AWANA as well as the themes for each night. We will announce upcoming theme nights each Wednesday as a reminder, as well as post theme information on our Southside Awana facebook page. We also use Remind to send weekly text messages to your cell phones about theme nights or other important events. To sign up for this service, text 810-10 with this message: @clubber
Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of our AWANA program. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to be a part of our program, please feel free to contact me.
